Who is this course for?
Anaphylactic shock, or anaphylaxis, is a life-threatening allergic reaction triggered by allergens such as food, insect stings, or medication. Without prompt and appropriate treatment, anaphylaxis can quickly become fatal.
This training is specifically designed for qualified First Aiders, Emergency First Aiders, and healthcare professionals, providing them with the knowledge and confidence to recognise and treat anaphylaxis safely and effectively. The course is particularly beneficial in high-risk environments such as schools, nurseries, workplaces, and public spaces where rapid response to anaphylaxis could save a life.
The qualification is regulated in the UK and awarded by First Aid Awards (FAA), an awarding organisation regulated by Ofqual and SQA Accreditation, and it sits on both the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).
